Terra Dolce first started in 2009 when the founder, Alison Cripps, was working as an esthetician in one of the world's leading spas. She started out making handmade soap bars for her co-workers then branched out to making body creams, oils, and scrubs. Now in 2011, Terra Dolce has launched it's "Around the World" product collection . The line consists of 5 scents which take you on a "vacation with every application".
Terra Dolce meaning "sweet earth" in Italian is inspired from products within the garden and around the world. Everything is handmade using 100% natural and chemical free ingredients and stored in eco-friendly packaging.
I was sent 3 of their garden soaps for review. Their handmade soaps are made of natural based plant oils, extracts and essential oils and come in 6 different scents.. Lavender Green Tea, Frankincense Myrrh, Basil Spearmint, Peppermint Jolt, Lemongrass, and Orange Clove. I absolutely love the Lemongrass, it's leaves a light lemon scent on your skin. The Peppermint is probably my least favorite simply for the fact that when I think of Peppermint I think of toothpaste and not soap. I also received the orange, which isn't too bad but again not exactly a soap scent.
When I first received the package, I was a little leery to try the soaps because the scents were so strong I thought they would be overpowering but they really weren't. They actually leave a faint smell on your skin, just enough that when you move around you can smell it but not enough to have to try to mask the smell with something else like lotion or perfume. To be completely honest I'm not usually a fan of bar soaps, I'm more of a body wash kinda girl but I've always wanted to try handmade soaps and I'm so glad I did. Though they do dry your skin out a little but so I probably won't continue to use them on my body but I think Terra Dolce soaps are great for hand soap!
