North Star Toys Review and Giveaway *Closed*

Sometimes simple toys that allow childrens imaginations to soar are the best toys there are and that's what I love about North Star Toys. North Star Toys offers high quality, non-toxic wooden toys that stimulate creative, imaginative play.

We were recently sent a few of their toys to try out including the Rainbow People Mover, a Little Rollie Animal, and a Little Rollie Vehicle. Trevor was so excited when he saw his new toys he started playing with them right away. They're simple toys, yet they get played with more than most of the toys in our house.

Our favorite of the three toys is definitely the Rainbow People Mover, Trevor loves to dump the people out then line them back up in the little car. It's a great toy for helping children learn colors, patterns, and of course, using their imagination.

North Star Toys are great for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. The quality of their toys is amazing, and since the toys are wooden they're very durable and will last for years. You can purchase a Rainbow People Mover for  $25 or any of the Little Rollies for $6 each.

PlasmaCar Review and Giveaway *Closed*

If you're an avid reader then you know how much I love finding fun new products for my boys. Well, I recently discovered the PlasmaCar and boy is this thing fun!

The PlasmaCar is a kid powered ride on. To work the PlasmaCar all you have to do is turn the steering wheel and away it goes! It can hold up to 220 pounds making it fun for the entire family. Even my husband gave the PlasmaCar a spin and he had a blast!

When we received our PlasmaCar to review my boys were so excited to give it a try. It's been too cold to play outside so they've been taking turns riding it around the house. Brayden mastered driving it within a few minutes and even Trevor, though he doesn't quite get the steering aspect of it, has tons of fun with it too!

HappiTaps Beary Happi and app Review

My boys love playing games on my husbands iPhone but unfortunately we always have the fear of them dropping it and breaking it so they're limited to when they can play with it. Luckily Infantino has come up with the perfect solution.. HappiTaps Beari Happi.

HappiTaps Beari Happi turns your iPhone or iPod touch into a cuddly interactive toy with a very snug fit plush case so you no longer have to worry about your little ones dropping and breaking your expensive devices. Also available is the HappiTaps iPhone app which is perfect for toddlers, preschoolers, and even kindergarteners.

The HappiTaps app features a toddler mode, which cycles through the activities automatically and is perfect for younger kids who can't handle the app menu, as well as manual mode which is great for the older kids and allows them to choose between all 7 games and activities. Some of the fun games and activities include peek-a-boo, sing along, story time, and even feeding time.

We were recently sent the HappiTaps Beari Happi to review and my boys were super excited to try it out. We slipped the case on my husband iPhone, downloaded the free HappiTaps app, and let them play till their hearts were content. They both really enjoyed the games, especially the feeding time game and peek-a-boo. They love having their own app on Daddy's phone and absolutely love the adorable little bear!

You can purchase the HappiTaps Beari Happi from Step2 for only $19.99 and download the free app at The HappiTaps Beari Happi case would make a wonderful stocking stuffer for the little ones in your life!

Disclosure: I wrote this review while participating in a campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Infantino HappiTaps and received a product sample to facilitate my review and a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.

The Help & Feeding America Working Together This Holiday Season!

FEEDING AMERICA, the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief charity, and the DreamWorks Pictures movie THE HELP, are joining forces this holiday season to help feed Americans facing hunger.  Coinciding with the DVD/Blu-ray release of THE HELP on December 6, a national donation campaign will run from December 1 to December 11 to generate food and funds to help feed the 1 in 6 people in the United States who do not have enough to eat.

“The economic downturn really hurt American families,” said Feeding America Director of Media Relations Ross Fraser. “As a nation, we need to come together to help our neighbors who are struggling to make ends meet. The collaboration between FEEDING AMERICA and the producers of THE HELP is a great example of how we can come together to make a difference.”

“The film’s hopeful message of creating change along with its home entertainment release during the holidays inspired the team here to reach out and help make a difference in people’s lives,” noted Jeff Small, President and Chief Operating Officer of DreamWorks Studios. “FEEDING AMERICA seemed the perfect fit in that it operates nationally but is focused locally and housed within the communities it serves and will directly benefit those in need.  We’re happy THE HELP can help.”

To help put food in the hands of as many people/families in need this holiday season, FEEDING America and THE HELP are asking consumers to please help contribute in one of the following ways.

Dinosaur Train: T-Rex Tales DVD Review

Dinosaur Train: T-Rex Tales
Available on DVD today!

Summary: Get on board the Dinosaur Train with Buddy, an adorable dinosaur, and his adoptive Pteranodon family as they embark on nine whimsical voyages in the Dinosaur Train: T-Rex Tales DVD available from PBS Home Video and Paramount Home Entertainment. In these special adventures, Buddy travels to Rexville, home of the Tyrannosaurus Rex dinosaurs, and learns that he too is a Tyrannosaurus!

Kids can learn fun and fascinating new facts about the dinosaurs while traveling through prehistoric jungles, swamps, volcanoes and oceans. “Dinosaur Train” embraces and celebrates the fascination that preschoolers have with both dinosaurs and trains while encouraging basic scientific thinking and skills. Perfectly timed to the holiday gift-giving season, the Dinosaur Train: T-Rex Tales DVD includes a bonus holiday episode, interactive games, coloring pages, Dr. Scott’s Segments and a reference guide for parents.

Our Thoughts: We have been watching Dinosaur Train since it first aired on PBS Kids. It's a fun show for my boys to watch and it's also educational so I have no problem letting them watch it. My boys have always been huge fans of dinosaurs, so it's great that they can watch Dinosaur Train and learn so many fun and interesting facts about dinosaurs.

If you have a toddler, preschooler, or kindergartener I would highly recommend picking up a copy of Dinosaur Train: T-Rex Tales on DVD today! It's currently priced at $12.99 on

Etsy Review and Giveaway: Elephant Cuddle Blanket from Ali's Place *Closed*

I was doing my usual Etsy browsing one day when I came across these adorable elephant cuddle blankets from Ali's Place. These elephants are so cute and I knew Trevor would love one. As I've mentioned before Trevor is my "blankie baby" and is completely obsessed with them.

When Ali agreed to send me an elephant cuddle blanket to review I was more than thrilled.. I might even say ecstatic because I knew how much Trevor would love it. I chose to go with a charcoal minky elephant with "fun ears" as Ali puts it. When this thing arrived I couldn't believe how stinkin' cute it was! The fun ears ended up being made out of Michael Miller flannel fabric which is just perfect for any little guy (or girl).

Trevor loves his elephant cuddle blanket and sleeps with it, and a few other favorites, every night! You can purchase one from Ali's Place for only $22.50.. This would make a wonderful Christmas gift for the little ones in your life! Be sure to check out Ali's other items too, including reversible fabric headbands, hair wraps, and nursing covers to name a few.

**Win It**
One lucky reader is going to win a $20 gift certificate to Ali's Place! This giveaway is only going to last 1 week in hopes that you can receive your item(s) before Christmas.

New Kidorable Dragon Knight Collection

My boys and I love Kidorable. All of their lines are fun and functional making them a big hit. They recently released their newest line for the boys, their Dragon Knight Collection.

Bravely galloping into the hearts of children everywhere, The Dragon Knight collection is steel grey with dark green as accent color, perfect for strong and brave boys. Some pieces accentuate the Knight, others the Dragon, but there is a nice interplay between both characters throughout the set. The umbrella has protruding dragon horns and wings, with a knight, fire, and a castle motif along the bottom. The helmet on the matching raincoat is Kidorable’s coolest hood so far.

Knowing that my boys would love their newest collection I was thrilled when Kidorable offered to send us the Dragon Knight umbrella to review. We recently had the chance to review their Space Hero umbrella, which Trevor absolutely adores, so this time it was Braydens turn for a new one. We've been having so much rain here lately and my boys love having their Kidorable umbrellas to keep them dry!

Think your boys would love the new Dragon Knight Collection as much as mine do? For the week of December 5-11 only, use coupon code: DRAGON7 to receive a free Dragon Knight umbrella with any order over $20 (make sure you add the Dragon Knight umbrella to your cart first).

Disclosure: I was provided with the product(s) mentioned for review purposes. All opinions are my own.
