Keeping Kids Creative Sponsor Spotlight: My Friendship Bracelet Maker

When I was a little girl friendship bracelets were the coolest thing ever. I remember sitting around with my friends for hours making bracelets to share with each other. Well, when I heard about the My Friendship Bracelet Maker I jumped on the opportunity to try one out.

Friendship Bracelet Maker

We were sent the My Friendship Bracelet Maker Traveler to review and it has really brought me back to when I was a little girl. First of all, I have to say how much easier it is to make bracelets with the My Friendship Bracelet Maker than it was back in the day. When I was little we used to tie the end of the thread to a safety pin and pin it to our jeans to make it stay in place... But with the My Friendship Bracelet Maker Traveler you can easily clip the thread in place and be on your way to creating friendship bracelet masterpieces!

Social Networking On-the-Go with the Samsung Galaxy S III #VZWSM

School is officially back in session across the country and families everywhere are spending more time on the go... Whether mom is driving the kids back and forth to football practice, dance recital, or simply back and forth to school it's important that she has a way to stay connected with family and friends when she can't be reached at home. Well, let me tell you I have been using the Samsung Galaxy S III for about a month and a half and it's the perfect phone for social networking on-the-go.

Now of course I will not recommend checking up on Facebook and Twitter while you're driving in the car but I personally like to have it handy while I'm standing at the bus stop waiting for Brayden to get home or waiting in the car to pick Trevor up from preschool. Because the Samsung Galaxy S III displays social media notifications right on the corner of your homepage it's so simple to just click and see what your friends are up to on Facebook.

Cooperative Skill Building with Feed the Woozle {Keeping Kids Creative Sponsor Spotlight}

Trevor is at that age where I'm trying to teach him to play with others instead of against them... In his eyes right now he has to be the winner, when in reality he needs to learn that we win as a team! That's where Feed the Woozle from Peaceable Kingdom comes in!

Feed the Woozle is a cooperative skills-builder game for preschoolers. It teaches them to work together, learn together and help each other win as a team so that no one feels left out. The object of the game is to work together to feed the Woozle so he won't be hungry.

Feed the Woozle includes a stand-up Woozle, 24 silly snacks, a spoon, a die, a spinner and instructions for three different levels of play. The three levels of play include: Level 1which introduces basic counting, Level 2 adds a gross motor movement a child must perform while making his way to the Woozle, and Level 3 where players rely on guidance from teammates to find the Woozle because they must close their eyes.

Ideas for Decorating a Boy’s Play Room {Guest Post}

Boys love to play – and what better way to keep them entertained than to give them their own space to play in? If you have a room in the house that’s currently sitting unused, turning it into a playroom is a great way to encourage the boys to have fun in their own space.

When you’re looking to decorate your boy’s playroom, here are a few ideas to keep in mind.

Buy a chest to put toys in

Every kid loves toys, but every kid also gets bored of toys…and when kids get bored of toys, they leave them on the floor, which can be a health hazard for everyone! If you’re looking for a way to store things in the playroom, buy a chest or a box for all of their toys to be placed in. Not only will it help de-clutter the floor, but it’ll also be a chance to teach your boys how to keep things neat and tidy. Remind them to put their toys in the chest when they’re done playing and every time they remember, reward them. They’ll soon catch on and before you know it, they’ll be tidying the entire house!

Keeping Kids Creative Sponsor Spotlight: Creativity for Kids

What better way to stick with the Keeping Kids Creative theme than a company that encourages children’s natural creativity with inspiring craft kits. That company is Creativity for Kids. Creativity for Kids has been around for 35 years and has won many awards for their innovative, high quality products.

We were recently sent Creativity for Kids' Stunt Squadron kit to review. This kit features 5 durable foam planes, color-in stickers, foil stickers, and markers, allowing kids to create a fun squadron of planes for indoors or outside.

These planes were a huge hit with my boys! They loved that they could not only put them together themselves but that they could also decorate them any way they wanted to. And of course they love that they now have 5 airplanes that they can fly around daily.

Green Kid Crafts- Earth Friendly Craft Activities Delivered Right To Your Door! {Keeping Kids Creative}

One of the best ways to keep kids creative is to provide them with fun and engaging arts and craft activities. While a piece of paper and some crayons will usually do the trick, sometimes kids want to do more hands on activities... That's where Green Kid Crafts comes in!

Perfect for kids ages 3 to 8, Green Kid Crafts delivers creative and earth-friendly craft activities right to your door! Every Discovery Box is packed with three unique activity kits designed to encourage kids to be creative while developing their respect and love for the environment at the same time. In addition to the materials and instructions for the three craft activities, each Discovery Box includes a Discover More guide which provides more craft ideas using materials found around the house, related reading and other fun facts all related to that month’s theme.

We were recently sent a Discovery Box with a "Feathered Friends" theme to review. The three activity kits included were bird puppets, a birdhouse, and a spotting scope, all of which turned out to be super fun and engaging for my boys! Each kit comes with most of the materials you need, minus a few things you most likely have lying around the house such as glue, scissors, etc... And each kit encourages kids to be creative in a different way.

Imaginative Play with Heritage Playsets from Bigjigs Toys {Keeping Kids Creative Sponsor Spotlight}

As a parent it is important that I encourage my boys to use their imagination. Sure they can run around pretending to be super heroes or firefighters but some days a nice quiet interactive playset is best... That's where Heritage Playsets from Bigjigs Toys comes in.

Heritage Playsets are a collection of quality wooden dolls house's, castles, and more that come complete with all of the accessories needed for hours of imaginative fun. With the Red Barn kids can be the farmer tending to the animals, or they can be the knight capturing the enemy with the King Arthur's Castle playset, and girls can even play house with the adorable Rose Cottage. When it comes to Heritage Playsets the possibilities are endless!

We were recently sent the Red Barn and the City Auto Garage to review. Both sets are made of quality wood and offer many different ways to play. The Red Barn comes complete with animals, bales of hale, and a working lift offering hours of fun for little animal lovers... Our only complaint is the fact that it doesn't come with a farmer or tractor, but luckily we have a few laying around!

Nicholas Sparks The Lucky One Review

Synopsis: Based on Nicholas Sparks' bestseller The Lucky One, Zac Efron ("17 Again," "Charlie St. Cloud") stars alongside Taylor Schilling (TV's "Mercy") and Blythe Danner ("Meet the Parents" franchise) in this romantic drama directed by Academy Award®-nominated writer/director Scott Hicks ("Shine," "No Reservations").

U.S. Marine Sergeant Logan Thibault (Efron) returns from his third tour of duty in Iraq, with the one thing he credits with keeping him alive—a photograph he found of a woman he doesn't even know. Learning her name is Beth (Schilling) and where she lives, he shows up at her door, and ends up taking a job at her family-run local kennel. Despite her initial mistrust and the complications in her life, a romance develops between them, giving Logan hope that Beth could be much more than his good luck charm.

My Feeding Friend Grow-with-Me Nursing Pillow Review and Giveaway *Closed*

Mother of four, Julie Menconi, has been nursing her babies since 2005. She quickly realized that the typical pillows on the market left a lot to be desired. It wasn’t until one day when she hastily grabbed a stuffed animal to use as support, that the idea of a grow-with-me, cute and cozy nursing pillow hit her. This idea has grown into line of four adorable feeding friends. The pillows serve as a nursing pillow, support as baby learns to sit, a toddler’s first bedtime friend and a meaningful keepsake and cherished toy for many years to come.

My boys are past the infant stages but boy do I wish we had a My Feeding Friend back then. I didn't breast feed but even moms who bottle feed need something to support their babies while they're feeding. But My Feeding Friend is so much more than just a support pillow, it's a toy, it's a friend, and it's a great way for mom and baby to bond.

DownEast Basics Review and Giveaway *Closed*

As you may or may not know I've been on Nutrisystem for the past four months and have been lucky enough to lose 19 pounds (YAY!) and that means it's time to find new clothes for my new body. I have admired DownEast Basics clothing for a while now and I was super excited when they offered to send me an item to review.

DownEast Basics offers affordable and fashionable clothing and accessories for women. After taking some time to browse their website I decided to go with the New Yorker Jeans to review since I'm in desperate need of new jeans. The New Yorker Jeans are a 98% cotton dark wash narrow boot cut jean that feature arrow back flap pockets and a wide waistband with double red enamel button closure.

I have been wanting a pair of jeans to show off the fact that I'm feeling more comfortable with my body and these are perfect! I decided to go with the dark wash that can be dressed down with a tank top and flip flops or can be dressed up with boots and a sweater. They're the perfect wear-anywhere jeans and the fact that I could order a size down from what I was wearing makes them all that much better!

Mess-Free Fun with Sticky Mosaics from The Orb Factory {Keeping Kids Creative Sponsor Spotlight}

The Orb Factory provides award winning crafts & activity products for kids that are easy to use and mess-free. Their best selling line, Sticky Mosaics, allow kids to peel & stick foam and jewel tiles to create mosaic masterpieces that are ready for display. They also offer a My First Sticky Mosaics line that brings crafting to children ages 3+ with big pieces for little fingers.

We were recently sent two Sticky Mosaics products to review including the Robots kit from the original line and the Zoo Animals kit from the preschool line. My boys absolutely love foam activities so I knew these would be a hit... And of course, I was right!

The Robots kit includes five different robot designs, 1200+ sticky foam pieces, 10 FlipMotion stickers to add real movement to these mosaic masterpieces, and five stands so kids can display their art proudly. Designed for kids ages 5 and up, the Robots Sticky Mosaics are perfect for Brayden. Though some of the sticky pieces are a little difficult to remove from the backing he absolutely loves this kit, especially the design by numbers concept.

Bandage Those Boo-boos in Style with Ouchies!

My boys are accident prone! We can't run around outside or go for a walk around the neighborhood without at least one of them falling down and scraping their knees. To make matters worse, if we don't have the "right" bandages they would rather have a major meltdown and bleed all over the place than put on a boring tan colored bandage. That's where Ouchies come in!

Ian Madover, President of Ouchies, started Ouchies to offer kids an array of adhesive bandages that allow them to show their style and personality. Ouchies are available in several fun designs, colors, and styles for boys and girls so that kids no longer have to have meltdowns over boring bandages!

We were recently sent two tins of Ouchies to review and they're a hit with my boys. One of the tins we received is the 4Boyz style which features flames, skulls, camouflage, rock stars, and dragons and is perfect for my rock star obsessed boys. We were also sent the 4Boyz Groovy Blueberry style which features awesome tie-dye colored bandages. My boys absolutely love both of them!
