Baby Cargo Lightweight Umbrella Stroller Review

Trevor recently outgrew his stroller and I was having a hard time finding something that was big enough for a 4 year old. We don't really use it often, as he'd rather walk anyway, but from time to time I like to go on a nice, long walk in the afternoon and his little legs just get too tired. Well, after searching and searching, I came across Baby Cargo and I knew their strollers would be perfect!

Baby Cargo is a new line of modern baby gear inspired by iconic architecture, chic fashion and fresh interior design. They offer strollers, stroller accessories, play spaces and space saver high chairs... All at an affordable price.

When Baby Cargo offered to send us one of their premium lightweight umbrella strollers to review I jumped on the opportunity. Now, when I say umbrella stroller I'm not talking your average $15 umbrella stroller from Walmart... These babies are modern, stylish, and most importantly, comfortable enough for everyday use.

We were sent a stroller from the 200 Series, which is ultra-lightweight, offers a multi-position adjustable backrest and adjustable leg rest, and is super compact and easy to fold. Perfect for throwing in your trunk to take to the mall or a walk around the park, this is your everyday go-to stroller.

Designed for ages birth and up, the Baby Cargo 200 Series Stroller features a five-point safety belt harness with a carrying capacity of up to 50 pounds. Of course it comes with an adjustable canopy for keeping the sun out of babies eyes, and a cargo basket for storing goodies. Since this is a smaller sized stroller, the cargo basket isn't exactly huge but it gets the job done.

I have been a mom for almost 7 years now, and I've gone through quite a few strollers over the past few years, and I can honestly say I've never seen an umbrella stroller like this. It's high class, without the price!

Available in three different color combos including ocean/stone, cherry/pom, and smoke/mirrors, this lightweight umbrella stroller can be purchased for a suggested retail price of $149.99 at select retailers nationwide.

I love the placement of the window on top. Maybe I missed it, but how much does the stroller itself weigh?

Danielle Meek said...

Natalie, The stroller itself weighs just over 13 lbs.

Having four kids we have also been through a number of strollers and finding one that fits an older child has been difficult but finding one that works from birth up is awesome. Thank you so much for the review

Great review. I have a 2 year old who, like your son, loves to walk but gets tired after a while. This stroller looks super comfy and stylish at the same time. I love the storage in the back, that would be super helpful. The stroller we have now is a hand-me-down Jeep stroller so I really hope that we are lucky enough to win one of these! God bless!

Like that its lightweight & easy to use

I love that it functions as an umbrella stroller but that its kind of pumped up like a full size stroller. I don't like typical umbrellas because they aren't at all supportive and I cant imagine that my daughter would be comfortable. I've been eyeing this one for awhile. If I don't win I just might have to get one!

Interesting, looks like they've thought of everything. And I like that it's lightweight.

Lots of awesome features are available on this stroller. My favorite feature however is that it folds easy. That was my biggest complaint with the past two strollers I had for my kids. I'm hoping I kind find one that is perfect for our third baby and this one seems like it'd please me just fine.

I like that the stroller is small but looks great. It does not look so big and bulky, it looks very sturdy and well built for an umbrella stroller.

We used a cheap stroller from Walmart while our little guy was going through chemo. This would have lasted much longer I think and not have scared lil' guy by collapsing just before we tossed it!

Wendy Mastin said...

I would love to have this at my home for my grandson when he visits.

Laurie Bolduc said...

Great review! I like how the bigger toddler can still fit in. Most umbrella strollers can not accomadate the size and space needed to be comfortable for the child. This one certainly has lots of space available.

I love that this stroller goes up to 50lbs and clearly would last a child several years.

I like how sturdy this stroller is and to be light weight at the same time. That is a hard combination to find in strollers lately. Thank you for your review.

Olivia L said...

I kind of wish we hadn't bought a travel system with our first baby. The stroller part is so heavy and unwieldy, and it takes up way too much room in the trunk. This looks like a much better option.

I have never been a fan of the umbrella stroller but Baby Cargo's version looks so much more sturdy and roomy. I like that it holds kids up 50 lbs, that means one stroller can last quite a few years. Thanks for the review !!

I would much rather pay $150 for a reliable stroller, than pay $15 for a stroller that looks like it wouldn't even be comfortable for a baby doll!

This is a great review! I could take this stroller anywhere with ease since it is so lightweight and easy to handle! Judging by the picture it looks like this can be a stroller that I can use for years to come and not just when the baby is really young! This stroller would definitely come in handy!

I've been searching for a new stroller as my 7month old was in a travel system and it is just too big to carry around, and after reading this I think I've made my choice! This stroller seems to have more features than other lightweight strollers which is exactly what I want. I've actually been looking for one now, great review of a great product.

Umbrella strollers certainly have come a long way. I like the looks of this stroller and the color combinations available. I know that I don't always like to mess with a big heavy stroller so this stroller would be ideal .
