Bite & Release by Cory Cyr {Book Review}

Ryan Chase left Fairbanks, Alaska, when she was 21 years old to pursue her dream of becoming an actress. Somewhere along the way her dreams of stardom crashed and burned, along with her life.

Thirteen years later she is forced to return to Fairbanks because her unforgiving and emotionally-distant father has suddenly died. Ryan seizes the opportunity to not only escape her abusive husband but to be able to attend her best friend's wedding. What could go wrong? It's only Fairbanks, Alaska...

While wishing she was anywhere but her father's funeral and wake, Ryan is struck senseless by a stunning, drop-dead gorgeous man. Her thoughts turn carnal and she desperately wants to know him in every way—and position—possible. There's only one problem...

He's the devil's spawn.
He's the one who marked her for life.
He's the kid she used to baby-sit.
And he's hotter than hell!

Shea Michaels has loved Ryan Chase for most of his life. After surviving an unspeakable childhood, he became a man of whom she could be proud of...if she ever came back.
Now that she's returned, Shea pursues her with a vengeance, undaunted by the thirteen year age difference that Ryan uses as the shield between them.

Confusion, guilt and lust bombard Ryan as she battles the memories of the little boy she used to know while still being drawn to the heart-stopping man he has become.

**18+ due to explicit sexual situations, graphic language and intense adult themes**

My Thoughts:
I remember seeing the cover for Bite & Release months before it was released and I just knew that I had to read it. I mean seriously... Have you seen that cover?! Then, after reading the blurb and seeing the teasers floating around Facebook and Twitter I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. Imagine my giddiness when the wonderfully talented Cory Cyr offered to send me a paperback of Bite & Release.

I have to say, as a debut novel Bite & Release is exceptional. The story is intriguing and the twists, oh boy... I was definitely on the edge of my seat. I actually got a little scared for a while there, I honestly had no idea how it would end, but have no fear, Ms. Cyr made it all work out in the end.

Now I'm going to be honest, I was a little apprehensive about this book because of the major age difference. Shea is only twenty-one and Ryan is thirty-four, and thirteen years seems like a little too much for me but Shea is so mature for his age that it really didn't seem that big of a difference while I was reading it. In all honesty, he seemed to have his life more put together than Ryan did, then again she had some major obstacles to overcome that definitely put a damper on her "growing up"... I mean if I had to run from an abusive husband I would probably be a little squeamish and apprehensive as well.

Overall, Bite & Release was a great read and I would definitely recommend it. Keep in mind this is an erotic romance and let me tell you it is HOT! But if that's not your thing then you should probably steer clear.

About the Author:
I began writing music and poetry at an early age. My love of music became my sole focus, and I spent quite a few years as the lead singer for many local rock bands. In high school, I was fascinated with the macabre and started writing science fiction and horror stories so dark they earned me the nickname "Gory Cory."

After years of writing dark tales, I never thought in a million years my first two finished manuscripts would be Adult Romance.

I am a devout vegan as well as an animal lover. I collect antique weapons and crosses(I still have that dark-side).

My books are ALL ADULT 18+
