by Cambria Hebert
Two people from completely different worlds are about to be thrown together…
In more ways than one.
She wants to keep her scholarship. He wants to stay on the team. An awkward alliance doesn’t even begin to cover Rimmel and Romeo’s relationship.
But that’s about to change.
It starts with a dare. An initiation. A challenge.
Quickly, it turns into more. But when you’re a victim of your status, there is no room for anything real. The rules are clear and simple.
Stick to your circle.
When it comes to #Nerd, I really just have one thing to say... #Amazeballs!
I've been a HUGE Cambria Hebert fan for a while now. I've read every book in the Take It Off series and I'm anxiously waiting on the edge of my seat for the rest. That being said, when I first heard about the new Hashtag series she had coming out I knew I had to get my hands on a copy of #Nerd, the first book in the series.
Now, I'm not gonna lie... I was a little skeptical when I saw she was writing a New Adult series with a college setting, but only because I love the romantic suspense aspect of her Take It Off series so much. Well, believe me when I say I worried for nothing!
#Nerd isn't some new story line that's never been done before. You have your nerd and your jock falling in love and all the difficulty that comes along with it. But Cambria Hebert can tell a story like no one else. You feel Rimmel's pain and self doubt, you feel Romeo's confusion as he's figuring out life's about more than football and parties, and you really FEEL them falling in LOVE!
This isn't your typical love at first sight, or even lust at first sight NA book. No, they really developed deep feelings for each other that surpassed the self-doubt and all the reasons that they shouldn't be together. Throughout the whole story you root for them and their happy ending.
Of course there's the typical "break up" that always comes in a New Adult book, but it was done so tastefully in #Nerd. Romeo didn't go out and hook up with a bunch of chicks to get over Rimmel. No, he made the sweetest grand gesture known to Romance novels and really proved to his girl that he loved her. #BestGrovelEver
What I think made me really love #Nerd though is the fact that both MC's and even the side characters are so darn likable. Rimmel is so nerdy and she doesn't even care, and that just makes you love her even more. Then there's Romeo (sigh)... The way he feels about Rimmel and the way he protects her... Well, what else can I say? I'm totally #TeamRomeo!
I went into the Hashtag series thinking it was going to be a bunch of standalones like her Take It Off series, and I honestly can't decide yet if I'm excited or disappointed that it's not. I'm not really one to read a bunch of books about the same couple as they usually do something to make me hate them at some point and I really don't want that to happen with these two. But after reading the blurb for #Hater in the back of #Nerd, I'm actually looking forward to seeing where Ms. Hebert takes us. #BringItOn
Cambria Hebert is a bestselling novelist of more than twenty books. She went to college for a bachelor’s degree, couldn’t pick a major, and ended up with a degree in cosmetology. So rest assured her characters will always have good hair.
Besides writing, Cambria loves a caramel latte, staying up late, sleeping in, and watching movies. She considers math human torture and has an irrational fear of chickens (yes, chickens). You can often find her running on the treadmill (she’d rather be eating a donut), painting her toenails (because she bites her fingernails), or walking her chorkie (the real boss of the house).
Cambria has written within the young adult and new adult genres, penning many paranormal and contemporary titles. Her favorite genre to read and write is romantic suspense. A few of her most recognized titles are: Text, Torch, Tryst, Masquerade, and Recalled.
Cambria Hebert owns and operates Cambria Hebert Books, LLC.
